Thanksgiving

Rachel, Mark and I drove to Vancouver, WA on Monday Nov 23rd. Reed and Shelby came on Wed Nov 25th. Rachel and Mark had dinner with Mark's family. We had made our own Thanksgiving Dinner with Reed, Karla, Aaron, Shelby, and Scott and Wanda. The we had dessert with the extended Claytons that evening. On Friday morning, Rachel, Mark, Reed and I did a session at the Portland Temple. On Friday night, the 6 of us, went to dinner at Big Al's and went bowling. Too much family fun bowling! Then on Sat the 28th, we drove back home, to Meridian, ID.

Halloween

Rachel was a lady bug. Mark was a spartan. Shelby was wearing bunny ears and a bunny tail. Karla was the "Great and Wise" pumpkin!!!

Shelby got her TONSILS out!!

On Wed Nov 4th, Shelby got her tonsils out. Pic of her IV and her cuteness... before surgery. No after surgery pictures. It has been 6 days and she is still feeling pretty rough. She whispers, writes messages, and text messages. The doctor said she may be out of school for 10 - 14 days. They say the older you get, the harder it is to recover. Her tonsils were so big, they would get infected, swell up and touch each other in the back of her throat. Hopefully this will be the end of her yearly sore throats and tonsillitis.

Rachel and Mark, Boise Temple

I think the most important thing that happened this summer was... Rachel and Mark going to the Boise Temple. They did their own temple work on Aug 27 and they were Sealed to each other for eternity on Aug 28, 2009.

Five Months Behind...

Dance Festival

Shelby participated in a 6 stake dance festival on April 25th. There were 1300 youth and 176 from our own stake. (and yes, I'm stealing Rachel's pictures, since I forgot my camera).

Happy Birthday to Me!!

April 17, Thanks to everyone who sent bday cards, wishes and checks and gift cards. All were greatly appreciated! I went out to lunch with my RS pres and VT companion, Dinner with the family, lunch with Rachel and Reed, and lunch again with my VT. I had a good time and ate lots of yummy food! With some of my bday money Rachel, Shelby and I went and got pedicures. We had a fun girls date. (feet are really ugly to begin with, but cute toes help!!!)

Easter

I am trying to catch up on my blogging. We had the traditional Easter dinner, ham, cheesy potatoes, strawberry jello salad, green bean casserole, etc, etc. The Easter Bunny even came to the kids. (Baskets were bread/roll baskets, since we could not find Easter baskets). Picture was after Sunday afternoon naps!

Spring Break at Long Beach WA

We went to Long Beach for spring break again this year. We missed Rachel, Mark and Aaron as they could not join us. Shelby took her friend Laken for the week. We had 2 - one bedroom condos, So the girls got their own "apartment" for the week. And again Reed and I got to spend time with each other.

so cold

I got to go on a weekend with Reed during the middle of March. He was working in Richland, WA on Thur and Fri and then umpired a college tournament on March Sat 14 & Sun 15. It was so cold and windy, but it was still fun for the wkend trip. Then Sun nite we drove to Spokane, and he worked Mon and Tues (pharmaceuticals). It was a fun 5 days and we stayed in nice hotels and ate great food.

Happy 17th Birthday Shelby

April 9, was Shelby's 17th bday. Rachel and Mark decorated her car. Reed, Rachel, Mark and I got her 2 dozen costco roses and took them to her in seminary. And then on Fri night she had a friends party. We rented the neighborhood clubhouse so she could have a dance party. We had wristbands and glowsticks, too much food, croissant sandwiches, pigs n blankets, veggies, costco bday cake, chocolate dipped strawberries. Lots of fun! Thanks Rachel for being the party planner, making all the food, being a chaperone and clean-up!

April 2 -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY REED

On his real bday, Shelby was out of town and Mark was working, so Reed, Rachel and I went out to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. We had a good time, even though it was only half the family. On Saturday night we all went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Then on Sunday we sang to Reed with German Chocolate Cake and Ice Cream. (miss you Aaron).

Comments for All

I have been delinquent about blogging lately. Reed and I went on a trip. (Yes, the two of us.) And we had spring break with Shelby and her friend. I do have pics and stuff to post about, but like I said... I have been delinqent.

I check everyones blogs everyday. I love being able to check in on a daily basis. So today, I will start with "Comments for All"!!!!!!

Behind on Posting

I have been behind on my posting/blogging duties, so here is a quick update. Reed, Shelby and I went to Vancouver over Presidents Day wkend also Valentine's Day. On Feb 15th Reed ordained Mark an Elder and gave him the Melchezdek priesthood. On the 16th Rachel moved to Meridian, ID. She drove a U-Haul truck with Mark and Rachel's things. On Mar 1st, Mark drove to Meridian to join Rachel. The two of them will be living with us for a few months until they get jobs and find a place to live. We are excited to have them with us. Aaron stayed in Vancouver, he is still living in Grandpa's house.

Shelby sang the national anthem at a boys varsity basketball game. She sang accapella. The national anthem is a hard song to sing with music, let alone no music. She did a fabulous job.

New Puppy

We adopted a new puppy (from craigslist). She is a chihuahua, her name is Chloe. Her first vet visit at 5 wks old she weighed 1 lb 2 oz. At her second vet visit at 9 wks old she was 2 lbs even. Rolo absolutely loves Chloe. Rolo plays with Chloe and mothers her. Pickle on the other hand, does not give Chloe the time of day.
