Poor Puppy Pickles

Pickle has had this brown growth between her toes for probably a year or so. It never bothered her, she did not lick it or chew on it. About 2 months ago the growth split open and red popped out and started to grow. At this point Pickle started to lick and chew on it. (The picture with Rachels toe is just to show how big the growth was.) Last week Pickle went to the vet for surgery, general anesthetic, she also got her teeth scrubbed and cleaned and flouride. She has had the bandage on for a week and supposed to have the cone on for 2 wks. Tonight as we tryed to take the bandage off, she wiggled out of her cone, so now we have to watch her if she chews on the bandage. After our adventure with her tonight, Rachel and I both got bit on our hands. Pickle HATES to have her toes or teeth touched, so anything near her mouth gets her upset and upset is a mild word to use. Pickle is now 13 years old, we have had her for 12 years. Her face and feet are so gray. She is not a red puppy any more. She is an old, fat dog now. She has a little head on a big fate sausage body!! But we love her so much.

PS... plus Rachel...

PS.... plus Rachel made her own fabulous zebra striped APRON !! cooking and sewing !!!

So proud of Rachel

Rachel wanted to cook Thanksgiving this year. She did a fabulous job. She started plans several weeks ago, made her menu and did all the grocery shopping. Her first turkey, all the fixings and side dishes, and homemade pumpkin pie and homemade apple pie and homemade crust. So much food for us, but lots of yummy leftovers. Pretty table with china and crystal. I so pleased with how she did. She did all the food, I supervised and answered questions, but I did not touch any food in preparation. Wonderful day all around. Ended with Rachel, Mark and I playing games and looking at all the ads in the newspaper.
